Loka Seva Prathisthana is a grassroots organization empowering rural communities through education, livelihoods, and sustainable development.
The programs of Lokaseva Pratishtana are rooted in active community participation. We typically enter villages through education initiatives and then expand our work into the areas of health, environment, culture, and livelihoods. By identifying issues, discussing solutions, and implementing actions, we ensure that villagers themselves are actively involved at every stage of the process.

Aasare – Vidyārthini Gruha (Girls Hostel) - Hanur
Establishing a Aasare in Hanur, Chamarajanagar, is crucial for empowering young women through education. Many girls in rural areas face significant barriers to continuing their schooling, including long distances to educational institutions, safety concerns, and societal pressures like early marriage. A dedicated hostel provides a safe, supportive environment, enabling them to pursue higher education and break cycles of poverty and traditional limitations. Some of the girls’ challenges which are faced:
Many rural girls are unable to continue their education due to long distances, poor roads, lack of transport, and unsafe travel conditions.
The absence of nearby high schools forces girls to drop out after 7th standard, breaking their education pathway.
Poverty and social pressures, including early marriage, push girls into household work or labor instead of schooling.
Daily travel from remote and forested villages poses serious safety and physical challenges for girls.
Aasare provides a safe, accessible, and affordable solution, enabling girls to continue high school education and break the cycle of discontinuation.
